About Atelier Jouvence - Custom Stoneworks

Atelier Jouvence Custom Stoneworks works closely with architects, interior designers, builders, and homeowners to create stunning, custom-designed stonework in a wide array of imported and domestic natural stone — all hand-carved by Master Stone Carver Olivier Dumont and his team of skilled artisans. We use only the finest quality natural limestone and marble to hand-carve our fireplaces, mantels, fountains, staircases, columns and capitals, range hoods, and more.

Master carver Olivier Dumont is a native of Dijon, France, trained in traditional stone carving techniques by some of Europe’s top carvers. Atelier Jouvence, founded in 2000, is run by Olivier and his American partner, Sonia Dumont.

Respect for Design

All Atelier Jouvence stonework is designed with respect for the traditional styles that characterized the great periods of architecture, from the Gothic era, through the Renaissance and Classical periods, up through Modern times. We have taken the best elements of design from these periods to create our own original carved stone works, inspired by the master stone carvers and architects of the past. Old World Craftsmanship

All stonework is produced by French Master Carver Olivier Dumont and his team of artisans, all trained in traditional Old World carving methods. Carved-to-Order in the U.S.A.

All limestone fireplaces, stone range hoods, and other carved limestone work are made-to-order at our Chicago workshop, and can be easily shipped nationwide. Chicago, being centrally located, is within easy shipping distance of virtually all parts of the United States and Canada. Our marble work is done in Pietrasanta, Italy, and then shipped to our Chicago location. Top-Quality Limestone and Marble Selection

We offer a choice of different top-quality French limestones, domestic limestones and Italian marbles. Our work is produced with only the finest natural stone. No pre-cast or composite material is ever used. Learn more about our stone selection.

Adaptability: Stone Fireplace and Range Hood Dimension Choices

All of our standard fireplace and range hood designs are offered in pre-set sizes to fit a variety of typical firebox and range top dimensions. Any of these standard dimensions can be customized to fit your exact specifications. We can also work with you to create completely custom-designed stonework.
