How do you maintain customer loyalty and continue to generate excitement for big-ticket items in these skittish times? First, keep those lines of communication open at all times. Second, never stop tooting your horn. Third, let your customers know how much you appreciate them. Those were the basic principles underlying our Fall 2008 promotion for Atelier Jouvence, the country’s leading purveyor of handcarved stone mantels and range hoods.

Sonia and Olivier Dumont of Atelier Jouvence worked with Jell Creative, to craft email blasts and an integrated marketing campaign to announce and capitalize on their new line of standard mantels for 2009. By combining many points of contact in a short period— enewsletters, a more compelling home page, stronger SEO, postcard mailings, and a stylish “Mantels 2009” sweepstakes microsite devoted to rewarding loyalty among customers in the trade — Atelier Jouvence not only stayed on the radar throughout the holiday season, but also generated considerable B2B buzz within their core business community of interior designers, architects, and home builders. Plans are already afoot for fanning the fire in 2009.

“We wanted to do something that would reward our very loyal customer base. We also wanted to show potential clients how dedicated we are to our trade partners,” explains President Sonia Dumont, “It was just one small way for us to treat one of our industry partners with a very special product that would thank them for supporting our craft. Especially in this economic climate, it’s important that business owners go the extra mile and use innovative marketing to pump confidence into our industry.”

And the sweepstakes sure did make one of Atelier Jouvence’s industry partners feel very appreciated. The winner of a new hand-carved mantel was Terry Griffin, a Chicagoan and interior designer.

“When Sonia Dumont called me and announced that I had won,” Griffin explains, “I was in complete disbelief and filled with excitement. I said to Sonia, ‘Are you serious?! I never win anything! This is wonderful!” and Sonia, who was just as excited, replied, ‘I know I never do either! Isn’t it great?’ I told Sonia ‘This is incredible. I’ve been wanting one of your mantles forever.’”

Terry’s downtown Chicago interior design firm, Griffin Design, Inc, is focused on creating beautiful transitional homes. For samples of her work and to learn more about Terry, visit her Web site.

Atelier Jouvence plans to keep pushing forward with marketing efforts that will remind current and potential clients of the extraordinary level of quality and wide range of options they offer with their products.

President Sonia Dumont has an optimistic outlook for the future: “We’re looking forward to pushing ahead in 2009. We believe in the products we create, and know that the industry will continue to appreciate the great value they’re getting when they invest in one of our products.”
